Dr. Michael Oslund

With more than 17 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Oslund is passionate about the medical field. Earning his dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, he completed advanced education and training in Invisalign and orthodontics, and he is certified in BOTOX and CEREC same-day crowns. Dr. Oslund also has specialty training in 3D-guided dental implant placement. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Matthew Yantorni

For more than 15 years, Dr. Yantorni has followed in the footsteps of his father, sister, and cousins who are all dentists. Earning his dental doctorate at Nova Southeastern University, he has devoted countless continuing education hours to orthodontics, dental implants, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and SPEAR Education. Outside of the office, he, his wife, and their two children are found traveling, boating, and rooting for their favorite sports teams.

Dr. Ivan Montijo

Graduating with his dental doctorate from the University of Florida, Dr. Montijo has more than a decade of experience. With advanced training in dental implants, orthodontics, sleep apnea care, and cosmetic dentistry, he is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry – a designation only held by less than 3% of dentists throughout the country! When he isn’t cleaning and perfecting smiles, he’s often busy spending time with family, running, golfing, exercising, or watching Gator football and basketball.

Dr. Lauren Coughlin

Dr. Coughlin graduated from the University of Florida with a dental doctorate before pursuing continuing education courses in endodontics, oral surgery, sleep and airway medicine, implantology, bone grafting, and Invisalign. Passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles, she is proud to be a member of the Lake Nona Dental Group. Outside of the office, she enjoys being an aunt to her brother’s four children. She also spends time cooking, running, playing sports, engaging in pottery and ceramics, and reading.

Dr. Sagir Patel

At the age of 13, Dr. Patel decided he wanted to pursue dentistry. Years later, he completed his dental doctorate at the University of Florida before going on to finish his General Practice Residency with NYU Lutheran. After working in a pediatric dental office in Washington, D.C. he returned to Florida. Dr. Patel enjoys learning about other specialties in dentistry, which is why he has taken courses focusing on dental implants, Invisalign, CEREC, sleep apnea therapy, and more. When he’s not treating patients, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and their dog, Leo. He also enjoys watching and playing sports, hiking, biking, and kayaking, and loves his desserts!

Dr. Laura Van de Water

Dr. Van de Water says that she gets to create two fantastic things through her work as a dentist: smiles and relationships! Not only does she help people achieve and exceed their dental goals, but she also has the chance to form long-lasting bonds with a lot of people in her community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about dental care? If you’re like most patients looking for the ideal practice to pursue basic and elective treatments, you probably do. At Lake Nona Dental Group, our dentists near St. Cloud are pleased to provide honest answers to some of your most important questions. We know it’s important that you find a place you can call home as well as a team you can trust, which is why we invite you to review the following information and contact us should you have any questions.

How do I get emergency dental care?

You should first contact your emergency dentist near St. Cloud as soon as possible. The moment the incident occurs, you may be tempted to rush to the local emergency room, but the only time this is necessary is if swelling increases or bleeding does not cease after 10 minutes. Also, if you break or fracture your jaw, go ahead and seek immediate medical attention. Otherwise, alerting your dental team will allow them to evaluate the severity of your problem over the phone and determine how quickly you should be seen.

At our practice, we offer same-day emergency appointments and will do our best to not only get in you to see one of our dentists in a timely manner but also provide you with at-home tips you can use to manage your situation in the meantime.

How many dentists are in St. Cloud?

As of 2020, the population of St. Cloud was 58,964. This means, there is an average of 27 and 32 dentists in the area. As a result, you and your loved ones have several options when it comes to dental care. What you may not realize, though, is that our dental team at Lake Nona Dental Group has many things to offer those other practices do not, such as:

  • We can perform most of our dentistry under one roof
  • We have two convenient locations
  • We use advanced, updated, modern dental technology
  • Patients of all ages are welcome
  • We offer flexible financing options
  • We offer CEREC® same-day crowns for quicker results
  • We provide BOTOX to individuals looking to turn back the clock on aging
  • And more!

What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?

You may be tempted to avoid the dentist’s office altogether if you think you cannot afford treatment but allow us to explain that this is not a good idea. The reason you should still plan to seek professional care is that forgoing treatment will only result in worsening oral health problems that eventually require extensive procedures that cost patients time and money.

At Lake Nona Dental Group, our dentists near St. Cloud are pleased to welcome your dental insurance as well as provide flexible financing through CareCredit, Lending Club, and Proceed Finance! We also offer an in-house membership plan to keep expenses low for uninsured individuals.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

Our team of dentists is licensed to practice in the United States. Professionals who wish to pursue a career in dentistry must obtain a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM) or Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree from an accredited university. Before dental school, however, a person must complete a bachelor’s degree and maintain high grades in the subjects of math and science.

Once finished with dental school, they have the option to pursue a specialization. Currently, the American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes 12 specialty fields (i.e., cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, pediatrics, etc.). These typically require three additional years of schooling and training.

Also, dentists are required to pursue a designated number of continuing education hours each year in order to maintain licensure.
